What shipped today — June 14
A batch of updates went live today. Here's what's new:
- Fronts — communities are now called fronts. Same thing, shorter name.
- Custom video player — videos play in a proper in-house player instead of the raw browser one.
- Live activity badge — see what's happening in real time, with a seen-state so it only lights up for things you haven't looked at.
- Fronts as home — the logged-out homepage now leads with a fronts hero and a rotating community banner.
- Ranks & XP polish — cleaner rank/XP layout and game-style rank theming.
- Composer upgrades — icon buttons in the post composer, and post links now open in a new tab.
- Broader nerd quiz — more questions in the sign-up quiz.
- Support page — there's now a /support page, linked in the footer next to terms, privacy, and cookies.
- Smaller fixes: the post rate-limit only counts successful posts now, plus assorted link and name cleanups.
