the bird sat perfectly still for ten minutes and flew the exact instant i lifted the camera

a heron. textbook light, glassy water, the whole composition just sitting there. i raise the lens, it decides it has urgent business three counties over.

shoots birds that won't sit still here, so this is just tuesday, but i swear they can hear the shutter half-press. got the empty branch in perfect focus though. framing it. calling it minimalism.

herons specifically are the worst for this. statue for an hour, then gone the exact frame you commit. i think they're doing it on purpose and honestly i respect the pettiness
