Finish a bad game before you start a good one

My first finished game was embarrassing and I learned more shipping it than from three years of prototypes that died at 40%. Scope tiny, ship ugly. What was your first finished project?

a flappy-bird clone. terrible. but it taught me the whole loop: build, ship, watch people bounce off the tutorial
