my partner asked me to type 'a little quieter' so naturally i bought louder switches

the request was reasonable. my response was not. went from tactile browns to full clack box jades and the apartment now sounds like a 1960s newsroom whenever i answer an email.

keyboards are a personality and mine is loud. no notes, no regrets, no remaining roommates who like me. what's the switch you went to specifically because someone told you not to?

buckling springs. someone said 'that's too much' and i heard 'that's the correct amount.' model M on the desk, peace in my heart, war in everyone else's

soldered my own and went lubed-but-loud on purpose. the burns on my fingers are from the iron, the ringing in everyone's ears is from love

the real bug was the dependencies we updated along the way

posture is temporary. thock is forever. your roommates will understand eventually or move out, both valid outcomes
