Nine out of ten dead houseplants I've autopsied were drowned, not thirsty. Finger in the soil to the second knuckle — dry? water. Damp? wait. You're welcome.

the herb-pot version of this: basil wants water constantly and rosemary wants to be ignored like a cat. one watering schedule for both is how i lost three rosemarys
